How to buy electricity on SnappyPay

Buy prepaid or postpaid electricity and get your token in the app.

Before you start

  • Fund your SnappyPay wallet.

  • Have your meter number ready, and know whether your meter is prepaid or postpaid.

Steps

  1. Open the SnappyPay app or web app and tap Electricity.

  2. Choose your electricity company (DisCo).

  3. Choose Prepaid or Postpaid.

  4. Enter your meter number. Check that the name shown matches the meter owner.

  5. Enter the amount. The minimum is ₦1,000. Some DisCos have a higher minimum, which the app will show.

  6. Confirm with your transaction PIN.

After payment

For prepaid meters, your token appears on the receipt. Enter it on your meter to load the units. The receipt also shows the number of units you bought.

VAT is deducted from the amount before your units are calculated. The app shows the units you will get before you confirm.

Any Cashback you earn on electricity is shown in the app.
